Dear Houston,
I grew up in Lafayette watching my family cook like the food was the conversation — not the thing before it. Every pot was a sentence. Every meal was something worth saying.
I took that with me to New York, to the Culinary Institute of America, where I learned the craft behind what my family had always done by instinct. Then I brought all of it here.
Houston fed me back. It showed me its neighborhoods, its people, its appetite for something real. So I started writing back the only way I know how.
